Therapeutic Approach

The aim of my work is to collaborate with clients to help them experience more joy, success, and meaning in all areas of their lives. I am a warm, caring, and experienced therapist interested in helping clients access their innate strengths, achieve greater self-understanding, and find workable solutions to existing problems. Having observed the enormously positive effect therapy can have on people’s lives, I am passionate about, and find great joy in, being a therapist.

My therapeutic approach, or style, is largely dependent on the needs of my clients. However, I am skilled in the areas of humanistic, experiential, systems, and cognitive behavioral therapies.  In working with couples, I primarily utilize emotionally focused therapy, except where contraindicated.  I believe that therapy is a relational process, so I always collaborate with clients to co-create a course of action best suited to their personality and needs.

The duration of therapy varies, depending on the goals and needs of each client. Positive results may be achieved over a period of weeks, or months. Typically, I meet with clients for one fifty-minute session per week, but additional sessions can be scheduled as needed.
